Our 1,800 sq. ft mountain cabin sits on 1 acre and backs up to Forest Service Land offering privacy and seclusion, yet is only 2 miles from Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory).

There are 2 bedrooms downstairs and a large loft upstairs to sleep 8 comfortably. The house is fully furnished and stocked with linens, towels, cookware and kitchen utensils. The main living space contains a wood fireplace (wood provided), cathedral ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. The hot tub outside on the large wraparound deck is the perfect way to end the day after skiing, hiking or any of the other abundant activities in the area.

The kitchen is a cook/bakers dream. Beyond the standard items such as coffee maker, pots/pans, cooking utensils etc., the kitchen is also outfitted with a waffle maker, crock pot, pans/baking sheets for baking bread or desserts, mixing bowls, measuring cups etc. We use the condo quite often and have outfitted the kitchen similarly to our primary residence.

The kitchen is fully equipped with new counter tops and is complete with cooking utensils etc. This unit comes with an underground parking space and a brand new washer/dryer (June 2010). The master bedroom is furnished with a king bed while the 2nd bedroom contains two sets of bunk beds. Additionally, a queen sized pull out sofa bed is located in the main living space which allows the condo to sleep 8 comfortably.

Our 2,900 square foot, 4 bedroom (+ loft), 3.5 bath, custom home is situated in Rockwood which is located 17 miles north of historic downtown Durango and less then 10 miles south of the Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory). The Rockwood train station for the Durango/Silvertin train is less then a 10 minute walk from the house and reduces the trip to Silverton by 45 minutes (2.5 hours instead of 3.25 hours).  The house is located at 7,400 feet elevation on a heavily treed lot which is adjacent to 250 acres of undeveloped forest.
