Nestled beside the scenic Dolores River, Slippery Rock River Ranch offers access to 40 acres of stunning Colorado wilderness and luxury lodging. Our secluded mountain retreat is elevated by bright, airy accommodations that blend modern design with rustic details inspired by the rugged landscape and its storied American past.
The Ranch’s sprawling, pet-friendly property is easy to navigate, with gravel paths connecting three distinctly-styled bunkhouses and a private apartment at varying distances from the main lodge. There, a self-service gourmet kitchen and cozy, heated outdoor living area provide plentiful space to come together for shared meals and games by the fireplace.
During the summer months, glamping tents are available for those who desire a closer relationship to nature while still enjoying a dedicated bathroom and all the amenities accessible to our guests at the main lodge and workout studio. Complete with free weights and yoga mats, you’re welcome to exercise inside the studio or stretch out on the large, covered deck. Afterward, relax those muscles in our private hot tub while taking in the alpine air.
With the Dolores River’s well-deserved reputation for trout fishing and rich hatches from mid-June to late October, there is ample opportunity for fly fishing right outside our front door. Looking for an off-property adventure? Explore the ancient cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park, relax in the healing waters of Dunton Hot Springs, or head north to Telluride for gondola rides and world-class skiing, all under an hour away.

This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).
Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).
Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

It is my absolute pleasure to write a review of this magnificent property.We could not have been more impressed. The entire property is gorgeously decorated. Please send me the name of your decorator. Being early risers, we loved the workout cabin. Starting the day with some light yoga and a stretch before skiing was perfect. It was the perfect distance from Telluride. We like being away from crowds and the cabins were such an easy drive. It was the perfect distance for us.
The main cabin is so cozy. The kitchen was obviously designed for someone who appreciates cooking. We had absolutely everything we needed. Fine cutlery and glasses. Your guests should not worry about having to bring anything of substance.
After dinner the kids played games in the loft above the kitchen while we sat around the table downstairs. All of the guest rooms were so beautiful. We love that we had individual private little homes for each of us. When anyone was tired, off they went. It was easy for everyone to have their own little space.
The surrounding area is immaculately maintained but it still feel the presence of the forest and oh my. That river. Wow. We have been fortunate to stay at some nice places but this one is very special. I have never felt so comfortable and relaxed. I wish there were more properties like this around the world because the bar really has been reset to a very high level. Thank you for sharing the property with me and my family.
